The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson
Reading Period:
March 15 - May 17, 2024

The University of Rochester Virtual Book Club will explore this compelling narrative delving into the intricate layers of family dynamics, secrets, and the profound impact of the past on present lives. From the award-winning author of Yellow Wife, join us in reading the novel nominated for Goodreads’ Choice Award for Best Historical Fiction (2023), The House of Eve. This is a daring and redemptive novel set in 1950s Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., that explores what it means to be a woman and a mother, and how much one is willing to sacrifice to achieve her greatest goal.

The reading period will begin in March — but join us at any time!

As a bonus, you'll have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to the author, Sadeqa Johnson, during our talk scheduled for May 7, 2024, at 4 p.m. (ET)!
